1. Who this is for
1.1 These terms apply between you and SPHERUM CONSULTING - FZCO (“Spherum”, “we”) when you hold a Spherum account of your own.
1.2 You hold an account because someone — usually your employer or an organisation you deal with — asked you for emergency contact details and uses Spherum to receive them. The account is yours, not theirs.
1.3 These terms take effect when you create your account. You do not consent to anything by accepting them: we handle your data because you asked us to run this account for you, which is a contract, and section 7 explains what that means.

2. What the account does
2.1 Your account holds your sphere: the details you choose to keep, such as who to call for you in an emergency.
2.2 A company sees nothing in your sphere until you give it a grant. A grant covers the specific fields that company asked for, and nothing else.
2.3 You can see at any moment who holds a grant, what each of them can see, and when you gave it.
2.4 You can withdraw a grant at any time, without giving a reason and without asking anyone. Withdrawal takes effect at once: the company stops seeing the data, and the values are deleted on the schedule set out in our Privacy Notice.
2.5 If a company adds a new field to its form later, it reaches you empty. Filling it in is your decision; leaving it empty is a complete answer.
2.6 The account is free to you. The company pays for the service, and that does not give it any right over your account.
3. What we ask of you
3.1 Keep your details accurate. A wrong number in an emergency is worse than no number.
3.2 Keep your access to the account secure, and tell us at contact@spherum.ae if you think someone else has got into it.
3.3 Use the account for your own details and those of the people you name. Not for anything else, and not for anything unlawful.
4. Details of other people
4.1 When you enter someone else’s details — the person to call for you — you are sharing data about another person.
4.2 By entering those details you confirm that you have told that person that you are naming them as an emergency contact, and that you may share their details for that purpose.
4.3 We do not contact that person to check. We rely on your confirmation.
4.4 If they later ask you to remove them, remove them. You can do it yourself, at any moment, without involving us or the company.
5. Your age
You confirm that you are 18 or older. The service does not provide for accounts held by anyone younger.
6. Tokens and the public emergency view
6.1 A company may give you a token — a physical article carrying a reference to your sphere.
6.2 Scanning that reference opens a public emergency view: a limited set of your details, shown to whoever scans it, without a password. That is the point of it — in an emergency, the person helping you has no credentials.
6.3 Before a token is linked to your sphere, we show you exactly what the public view will contain. Linking it is your decision.
6.4 You can break the link at any time, which makes the reference inoperative.
6.5 We record when your emergency view is opened, so you can see it. We record nothing about the person who opened it.
6.6 Consider what you put into a field that will appear in the public view. Anyone holding the token can see it.
7. Your data
7.1 Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Notice at /legal/privacy.
7.2 For your account itself, we act for our own purposes and on the basis of this agreement between us — not on consent. That means you do not need to keep a consent alive to keep your account, and we do not need to ask you again to keep running it. You end it by closing the account.
7.3 For the contents of a grant, the company you granted to decides what it does with the data, and it answers for that. We handle it on that company’s instruction, under the agreement at /legal/dpa.
7.4 Your rights over your data, and how to use them, are set out in the Privacy Notice. Most of them you can exercise directly in the application, without writing to anyone.
8. Closing the account
8.1 You may close your account at any time. Closing it ends every grant given from it and deletes your data on the schedule in the Privacy Notice.
8.2 Deletion is not reversible and has no cancellation window. Export anything you want to keep before you close.
8.3 We may close an account that has been unused for 24 months, or one being used unlawfully or in a way that threatens the security of the service. We give you notice before we do, at your registered address.
8.4 If the company that invited you stops using Spherum, your account does not close with it. The grant you gave that company ends.
9. What the service is not
9.1 This is not an emergency service. It stores details and shows them to whoever you allowed to see them. It does not call anyone, does not monitor anything, and cannot guarantee that a contact is reached.
9.2 We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise that it will be available at any particular moment.
9.3 The account is free, and our liability to you is limited to what the law does not allow us to exclude. We are not liable for the outcome of an emergency, for a contact who could not be reached, or for details that were out of date.
10. Changes to these terms
10.1 We may update these terms. The version and the date appear at the top.
10.2 We tell you before a material change takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can close the account.
11. Law and courts
11.1 These terms are governed by the federal law of the United Arab Emirates and the law of the Emirate of Dubai.
11.2 The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them.
