SPHERUM
About

Contact data belongs to the person it describes.

Spherum is built on a single premise: a person keeps their own contact records, and decides which organisation may reach them. Emergency contacts are where that premise becomes practical first.

A first case, not the whole idea

Spherum exists because contact data is held by the wrong party. An employer keeps a copy, a clinic keeps another, a contractor keeps a third — and none of them can tell whether any of it is still accurate.

Emergency contacts are where we begin: high stakes, low frequency, and no good existing answer. They are the case that makes person-owned records obviously correct rather than merely preferable.

The mechanism underneath is broader. A person maintains their records once and grants access to them; what the record contains, and which organisation needs it, is a matter of scope rather than a matter of architecture.

The company

  1. Spherum is built and operated by a company registered under IFZA licence in Dubai Silicon Oasis, United Arab Emirates. The registered entity is named in the Terms and the Privacy Policy.

  2. The service is operated from the UAE and built against the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. Where Spherum processes data on behalf of a client organisation, it does so as a processor under a data processing agreement.

  3. Data retention, export and erasure follow the stricter of the two frameworks we design against: the UAE PDPL and the EU GDPR. Building to the higher standard from the start means the service does not have to be rebuilt for an organisation whose obligations reach beyond the UAE.
